The Kestrel 2500 is a reliable handheld device for on-site rapid weather condition monitoring. Unlike the base 2000 model, it is equipped with a pressure sensor, enabling tracking of atmospheric pressure changes and early warning of possible weather shifts. The instrument measures wind speed using a replaceable impeller sensor, records air temperature via an external thermistor, and displays atmospheric pressure and altitude above sea level readings. Current, minimum, maximum, and average values are available on the screen. Built-in clock and auto-shutoff functions extend battery life.
Kestrel 2500 applications
- Outdoor recreation and sports — hiking, fishing, paragliding, aeromodelling: the device helps assess conditions before heading out and make an informed safety decision.
- Long-range shooting — allows accounting for wind speed and direction, as well as atmospheric pressure for precise shot correction.
- Field weather monitoring — suitable for specialists working outdoors: construction workers, agricultural professionals, rescue personnel who require current weather data directly at the site.
Kestrel 2500 advantages
- Ruggedness and water resistance — the housing meets IP67 standard and withstands impact loads per MIL-STD-810G, ensuring reliable operation under harsh conditions.
- Pressure sensor for weather forecasting — continuous atmospheric pressure monitoring enables tracking of its three-hour trend (rise or fall) and anticipating weather changes in advance.
- Long battery life and ease of maintenance — a single CR2032 battery provides up to 300 hours of operation, and the impeller sensor can be replaced by hand without tools directly in the field.
